Real Superpower

Something our president said recently has given me cause to think about his policies.  It is in relation to the current financial crisis we’re experiencing due to the irresponsible management of high-ranking financial figures.  One of the most conspicuous companies as most of us well know is AIG.  This company put upon itself the responsibility of insuring other financial institutions.  Unfortunately, it and other companies became involved in credit schemes designed to get rich quick.  Now that we are on the receiving end of this financial indiscretion, our president has formulated a solution.  It is this solution that has me deeply concerned for our economic freedoms and basic business rights.

This is a quote from Barack Obamaduring a Tuesday night news conference this week.

“Keep in mind that it is precisely because of the lack of this authority that the AIG situation has gotten worse,” Obama said. “We should’ve obtained it much earlier so that any institution that poses a systemic risk that could bring down the financial system, we can handle, and we can do it in an orderly fashion that quarantines it from other institutions.”

The acquisition of companies by the government should never be sanctioned by any political figure.  It is the freedom of our financial system which generates its huge success.  While more regulation should be required, a hostile takeover by the government would be in no one’s interest.  This credit crisis has no single motivator.  This is simply an attempt to create a scapegoat for the problems we have.  As Rahm Emanuel put it, they’re going to try to make the most of this crisis.  While the crisis should be an opportunity to view the problems and create solutions, it should not be used as an instrument to carry out specific agendas of special interest groups.

Honestly, I believe that we would be in the same situation no matter what political party.  Whether it’s a Democrat or Republican, this kind of control would have been advocated by either side.  What I see is a larger goal in mind to further control the private sector.  I don’t think anybody truly knows the intentions of the government, but anyone with the power to stand between a small minority of political figures and the majorities rights to freedom should do so with one thing in mind.  The liberty and freedom of the peoples of the United States of America.

So much easier

I would just like everyone to know that I am now in possession of a dictation program.  So that means that I will probably be posting a lot more on this thing.  Saying that I can write an entire sentence in the amount of time that I could write a single word with the keyboard.  Plus I just got my replacement monitor in today so life is good.  :-) it even does the smiley faces LOL

The RIZANE

The ground drinks the rain….but i like orange juice.

I guess some goes down the drain…both juice and rain…

It just seems like a cycle ya know…like the wheels on a watch…

Being there would be incredible, the ride down i mean.

You finally get big enough to leave your cloud

And your reward is a freefall to the ground.

Dang. Good thing I’m not the rain…good thing…
